We started
the day by heading to the tour through the city. Once we survived the peak hour
and made it to the Pier 17, we got aboard the Zephyr. The tour included a trip
by the East River and around the Statue of
Liberty. But before that, we made a small round upstream, under the icon of the
East River, the Brooklyn
Bridge. As we floated
under the bridge I couldn't help thinking how long the bridge had served as a
passage between the busy boroughs on Manhattan
and Brooklyn. 129 years it has stood in the middle
of the pulsating metropolis by connecting people and their lives. No doubt it
will be filling its place in the future as well.
