I also went to a Broadway musical the last time I was in New York only then I saw Matilda. This time we went to see a classic: Chicago. I hadn’t really known anything about this musical, which is unacceptable I know, before I found out we were going to go see it. After that I couldn’t stop listening to the soundtrack of the film that has been made from the musical. I was very excited before we saw it and very eager to see it.
   I thought that the whole musical was excellent. The performers were great for their parts and were amazing, especially Veronica Dunne who played the main character Roxy. She was amazing and, all in all, perfect for her role. This was also her debut performance on Broadway. Also, NaTasha Yvette Williams who played Matron "Mama" Morton and R. Lowe who played Mary Sunshine were very good in their roles. I think that this musical was if not the best then one of the best things we did in New York.

9/11 Memorial and Museum

On Monday October 17 we went to 9/11 Memorial and Museum. I think for me it was the most emotional sight we went to see.  The Memorial made me think about what had happened and it made me sad but when I went inside the museum I got goosebumbs everywhere and I could tell how everybody was stunned about everything they saw there. All the pictures, videos and the objects helped me understand better what had happened. I saw people crying and I was crying too and I think everybody had it difficult to try to keep their emotions in check. The hardest part for me was to see the video about the 9/11 victims who survived and were talking about what had happened as well as about the ones who didn’t survive. One hour isn’t enough time to spend there, you have to have a whole day there so you can go through everything. For me 9/11 Memorial and Museum was one of the best sights we went to see.

Ellis Island

We visited Ellis Island on October 17, which was a Monday morning. The first place where the ferry took us was the Liberty Island. Then the ferry continued its tour and took us to the Ellis Island. Ellis Island is an island and museum located in Upper New York Bay, east of Liberty State Park and north of the Liberty Island in Jersey City, New Jersey. A small section of Ellis Island is a part of New York City. The reception center for immigrants was located on Ellis Island during years 1892–1954. We visited the Ellis Island museum, which was fascinating to see. The entrance was quite impressive and the first impression was good. The most memorable things were the Finnish people’s pictures. I also remember seeing pictures of the Swedish and Norwegian people. Those people in the pictures were the immigrants, who came to Ellis Island during years 1892-1954. There were a lot of photographs, artifacts, prints, videos, interactive displays, oral histories, and temporary exhibits in the museum. The American Family Immigration History Center was an interesting area, too. There were the passenger records of the ships that landed with over 51 million immigrants, crew members and other travelers at the Port of New York and Ellis Island from 1892 to 1957.
