Empire State Building
Our Sunday
started with one of the most popular attractions in New York City: The Empire
State Building. Originally we were supposed to go there on Thursday, but we
went on Top of the Rock instead. So, we got to see New York both in the night
and in the daylight. In the United States every state has its own nickname and
New York is “the Empire State”. The Empire State Building is the second tallest
skyscraper in NY and the 23rd tallest in the world.
Even though
it was a pretty early morning, we had to stand and queue quite a long time
before accessing the observation deck on the 86th floor. There was
also a strict airport style security check, like there is in almost every
attraction in New York. The view was worth waiting. It was a really beautiful
morning: the sky was blue and the sun was shining.
We got
some really nice pictures and were able to see New York from every direction. I
think the Empire State Building is one of the must-see things in the Big Apple.
