Little Italy
Little Italy
is a neighborhood in Lower Manhattan, New York. The area has long been home to
New York’s Italian population but today the number of Italians still living
there is really small. Also Chinatown
has shrunk the neighborhood into the size of barely three blocks - before it
was 50 blocks.

We visited Little Italy on our first whole
day in New York. Our sightseeing tour included a lunch there so it was a great
opportunity to get to know the area better. At first sight there I noticed the
typical Italian flags decorating the streets and the Italian restaurants and
coffee shops. It totally gave me a feeling that I was in Italy. We didn’t have
much time to spend there but it was truly a great experience!
