&Juliet the Musical

 

Luckily our Friday the 13^th was everything else but unfortunate! We got an experience one can only get in New York: we went to see a Broadway musical.

The feeling was unreal when we walked past the big screens and signs of Times Square to the Sondheim Theater where we went to see the musical &Juliet. Even before we stepped into the theater, we could tell it was going to be an unforgettable night.

Although our seats were on the last rows of the balcony the view to the stage was great and the atmosphere even greater. The pure talent of every single cast member touched the whole audience. The musical brought up almost every emotion I could think of between laughing and bawling my eyes out. But at the end of day &Juliet was a show no one could leave without a smile on their face. The energy went through the roof when everyone in the audience stood up to dance during the last number. 

The musical didn’t end when the curtains came down. Walking back to our hostel, we sang together I Want It That Way, a song by Backstreet Boys which was also featured in the musical. The magic of musicals really affected us, and I believe we all will remember this Friday night for a long time.
