Guggenheim
Solomon
R. Guggenheim is a museum on Fifth Avenue in New York. The museum building was
designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. In 1959 the museum was opened to public. It’s a
museum where you walk around the building in a circle, the rotunda, but when we
were visiting the rotunda was closed because a new exhibition was being built. There
is also an interesting museum shop. In the Guggenheim
there was an interesting exhibition of Vasily Kandinsky’s works when he was in
Paris. There was also Thannhauser’s collection which consists of a lot of paintings,
for example works by Gauguin, Monet,
Picasso and van Gogh. All the paintings were different and unique, which made the museum interesting.
