9/11 Memorial
and Museum
We visited the
9/11 Memorial and the Museum that is a part of the Memorial on Saturday
afternoon. We had actually seen the Memorial before on the bus tour that we had
taken earlier. The Memorial consists of two huge manmade waterfalls. Around the
waterfalls there are every victim’s name who had lost their lives on this great
tragedy.
The museum was
one of the most memorable places that we visited on our trip. Inside the museum
there are some parts left from the twin towers that got
crashed. There is for example an unbroken window from the
other tower. It is surreal that a window was able to survive the crashes.
At the same time it shows how much damage was made if only one window survived. There
is also an exhibition where there is a picture of every victim of this act of
terrorism. The pictures were a hard thing to see because it is so unfair
that these people had to suffer although they did nothing wrong. On September
11th, 2001 so many innocent people lost their lives. This Memorial
is a way to honor the victims of that day and it is an important place to visit
while being in New York.
