Columbus Circle

Columbus Circle is a traffic circle, named after Christopher Columbus. The circle has a statue of him in the centre and fountains and benches around it. It‘s located at the southwest corner of Central Park and it is very near the hostel we stayed at. (Just three blocks away!) There is also a shopping center, Time Warner Center and the HQ of New York CNN on the west side of the circle.
Columbus Circle was one of the most important places on our trip. Almost every morning we started there and almost every night it was the last place we went to. Our home subway station was located in the Columbus Circle and there were five subway lines going from the station. And only two stops from the Times Square, pretty cool!
