The famous Brooklyn Bridge

This landmark is well
known all over the world and is especially popular among tourists. It has been
mentioned in many books and movies over the years.
The bridge was built
during 1869-1883 and its purpose was to connect Manhattan and Brooklyn. The
Brooklyn Bridge is huge and also the world’s first steel-wire suspension bridge.
Therefore, at the beginning people didn’t believe that it would actually stand.
To prove these people wrong they had to demonstrate it by walking 21 elephants
across it.
We walked the bridge
from Brooklyn to Manhattan and got to see the beautiful Manhattan skyline.
There were a lot of other tourists taking pictures standing on everyone’s way
which started to get a bit annoying. The fact that all the cars were underneath
us on a lower deck made it a lot less stressful and more easygoing to walk,
though. Overall, it was a nice experience and totally worth doing if you’re
visiting New York.
