Columbus
Circle
Columbus Circle is a traffic circle
that is located right next to the youth hostel we stayed at. It was the closest
subway stop to our home for the week and very useful for us since we could
always take a train anywhere from there, which meant that we walked through
Columbus Circle more times than I can count during the week. On the edge of the
circle we spotted a shopping mall which held some of our favorite stores, for
example Sephora. There were also some restaurants, but as we walked in we
realized that they were way over our budget, therefore we never ate anything
there.
Right in the middle of the
intersection there was a park: one night we got takeout and had dinner on the
benches that surrounded a large statue in the middle of the park. We were lucky
enough to witness a ballerina clad in a beautiful dress decorated with bright
lights dancing around the statue with her partner. It truly made our night so
much better and also got us, well, at least me, falling in love with the city
even more.
