Little Italy is a neighborhood in lower Manhattan, New York City. Back in the days Little Italy had its own language, customs, and financial and cultural institutions and it covered nearly 50 blocks. Nowadays there are only a few Italian shops and restaurants -about 50- and even the number of Italians living there is very small. Little Italy has shrunk because of Chinatown to about three blocks. We didn’t visit Little Italy with our group, but few of us went there on their free time.
