Central Park

Central Park

Central Park means a lot for the New Yorkers and it is not hard to understand. It is the only place on Manhattan where you can actually see and feel nature. It covers the land from 59th Street to 110th Street between Fifth Avenue and Central Park West (Eight Avenue).  Although Central park looks like a natural park, it is totally man made. All of the thousands of trees and bushes are planted by a human.
In Central park you can do a lot of different outdoor activities like run, ride a bike, play baseball, basketball or soccer. You can also go for example boating or ice skating. There you can experience almost any type of hobby you can imagine.
On Monday we walked through the Park and saw by ourselves how big and beautiful it is. We also saw the memorial of John Lennon. Next to it there was a homeless man playing and singing songs from the Beatles. He was playing very well and made the atmosphere lighter and joyful.
