Columbia University
On Tuesday
the 14th of October our group took a trip to visit one of the oldest
institutions of higher learning in the United States, Columbia University in
the City of New York. After we arrived at the campus we all sat down on ”the steps”
of the library and admired the college life. For me at least, it has been a
dream to go to a university in the States. Later on we had an orientation about
the campus, academics, student life and a guided tour by a senior student which
was very interesting. There were also other students and their parents that
were actually considering this college and asking a lot of serious questions
about for example the courses and the tuition.
Columbia
University is a private Ivy League university located in Upper Manhattan, in
Morningside Heights. The university was founded in 1754 and was originally
referred to as King’s College but was renamed Columbia University after the
Ameican Revolutionary War. Columbia’s main campus takes over 32 acres in
Morningside Heights and is surrounded by numerous libraries.
